Fees

Fees and pricing.

The first conversation costs nothing. What follows is either booked as a package at a flat rate or billed by time. Which route fits you we say in that first conversation, not later in the invoice.

First conversation

The first conversation costs nothing.

Call us or write to us. We record what the matter is about and place it: which obligations apply to you, and how urgent they are. On that basis we propose the route that fits, as a package or billed by time.

Advice billed by time

One hourly rate, advice tailored to you

One-off advice, training outside a package, reviews of an individual case. Anything that cannot sensibly be turned into a flat fee is billed by time.

200 € per hour

plus VAT

  • No basic fee and no minimum volume
  • An estimate of the likely time required before we start
  • Fair billing based on the time actually spent (in quarter-hour increments)

Frequent questions

What clients often ask.

Is the first conversation really free of charge?
Yes, with no strings and no later set-off. It serves to record the facts and place the topic, so that we can tell you what needs doing and what it will cost. It does not yet involve substantive advice.
What does an hour of data protection advice cost?
200 € plus statutory VAT. Billing is in quarter-hour increments, there is no basic fee and no minimum. Before we start you receive an estimate of the likely time required.
When is a package worth more than billing by time?
As soon as the engagement becomes permanent. The external data protection officer packages include a monthly hour allowance that costs less than the same time billed individually, and they also cover the appointment, the notification to the authority and the data protection management system.
Are there extra costs for software?
No. Use of our cloud-based data protection management system is included in the external data protection officer packages; there is no separate licence fee for it.
Are the prices shown net or gross?
Every figure on this page is a net price and is subject to statutory VAT on top.
